Show and Tell Friday~Hand Held Memories~ Memory Quilt

I just completed this last night. I am pretty pleased with how it turned out. My friend at http://www.thecutesymom.com/Blog.html embroidered the border on this for me. I am swimming with tons of ideas of how to team up with her on other items.

For now, Enjoy the quilt. Also notice the special detail...that each hand is a different size to match the picture of the child it belongs to. ♥

Also, I have a treasury going on at Etsy. It's a Creation Theme, and I would love it if anyone would give it some love! ♥ http://www.etsy.com/treasury_list_west.php?room_id=54715

New Baby

(I Cannot Believe it)! gasped New Daddy. It was (9:00pm) and baby was awake for the (14th) time today. New Mommy had been (dutifully) (folding laundry), but rushed to check on New Baby. "No, no," said New Daddy, who had been relaxing by (cleaning his guns). "I'm always (ready) to help with the baby. I'll go." New Mommy was (relieved), since this was only the (1st) time that New Daddy had offered to help. In fact, New Daddy was more inclined to snack on (Pizza and IBC Root Beer), while sitting on the (Three Headed Couch), watching (24). New Mommy knew that she should (gratefully) accept, because New Daddy might not offer again!

Sweetie's Pillow

When I went to buy my new serger, the kids had to wait a pretty long time. And poor tiny boy had a fever. :(

As we were waiting....a nice lady in the Husqvarna dealership gave the girls a generous "scrap" of embroidered fabric.

They were *SO* thrilled! And to boot, it matches their room's decor! :)

So the other day, Sweetie and I worked on her pillow. After working all afternoon and most of the evening (with a little break in between) here is the finished product:

The Front of the pillow
The back....which was a scrap from my stash

And Bean had to get in the picture too! We work on her's next! :)

I Got a New Toy!!!

My sweet........ understanding......... husband....(dreamy sigh).....

Well, he gave me a wonderful gift of a brand spanking new serger!

This is what he got me:

I went "Serger" comparison shopping yesterday. First I went to the Bernina sewing center, then I went to Joanne's and looked at their Husky Lock put out by Husqvarna.

I already have a Interlude 445 Viking! (Whoop Whoop!) so I am famliar with the product. (By the way, I have had my Viking for three years and *nothing* has gone wrong with it. Whereas my brother would give me fits every time I sewed with it)

Well, Viking had their almost the top of the line serger's on sale for the same price as Bernina's bottom of the line serger...and Bernina's wasn't computerized either!

When I went to Joannes, (where I purchased my baby lock serger 11 years ago) they called the repair department and told them that finding the part to fix my serger would be difficult...and I needed one fast!

I get to pick up my new toy on Thursday! ♥

Here is the description on Husqvarna's website:

Huskylock 910
Sewing is fast, easy, and fun with the right tools. Combine the speed and professional finish of your Huskylock with the versatility of your Husqvarna Viking sewing machine for unlimited creativity.
The 2/3/4- thread Huskylock 910 features the exclusive Sewing Advisor. The Sewing Advisor instantly sets the best stitch length and differential feed, recommends thread tension, needle and more for perfect results. Simply enter the weight and type of fabric you are sewing and the technique you want to sew, the rest is automatic.
Overlock with no waves or puckers on knits and specialty fabrics thanks to the differential feed. Simply turn the differential feed dial to achieve smooth, even results for any technique on any fabric from sheers to knits to wovens. Turn the dial again for speed gathering. It’s that easy!
Choose from 11 pre-programmed stitches and 6 built-in fabric types. Better yet, program your own settings for specialty techniques on either model and store them in one of 50 personal memories for future use.
For piecing quilts, set your Huskylock to a perfect scant 1/4" seam allowance and begin sewing. You’ll never run out of bobbin thread. The 910 also has the specialty thread guide for decorative threads. Finish and embellish any type of fabric.

Show and Tell Friday~Baby Set

Hey everyone! This is Heart Of A Mommy.... I am putting my Show and Tell Friday post on this blog because I don't want my sister to see it! She doesn't really know that I have this blog, so I think it's safe. ;-)

The reason being, is that I made an outfit set for her new baby that she's expecting and she hasn't received the present yet. Although she should soon as it's on its way to her right now. :)

My little girl's doll is modeling the outfit, LOL! This is the whole ensemble. Hat, Dress, Pants, and Booties.

The dress is made of brown fabric with sweet multi-colored polka dots. The pants and contrasting fabric on the dress is a girly girl pink.
I crocheted the hat and flowers for the hat. This is an extremely easy pattern that I found online for free

These Booties are made out of felt. I did a blanket stitch around the edges. My sewing machine has this simple embroidery stitch that I stitched around the toe of the shoe. This booties pattern is a Simplicity archival pattern that they re-released. I also sewed on transparent brown ribbon with white polka dots to tie the booties on.

I am extremely pleased with the way this set turned out! ♥

Custom Orders....

Here are a few things that I have done for custom orders. Do you need a custom order? I'll be happy to accommodate! ♥ :)Thank you to Katie at The Cutesy Mom for allowing her sweet little girl to model these. ♥
I am not totally finished with these. The lady who ordered them ordered a matching shirt, and another pair of culottes for her other daughter. I'll be posting pictures when I am finished. ♥

Custom Orders

I just want to remind everyone that I do and LOVE to do custom orders. It saves me alot of time as well, because I don't have to make a pair to show on etsy, and model or take pictures.

I got my first custom order, and it's been tons of fun! Please don't hesitate to convo me on etsy if you like the style these culottes/split skirts/skorts offer, but you don't like the colors or designs that are already offered for sale.

Right now I have these fabrics in which to work with.

And I just bought some other fabrics too, that I have had to opportunity to take pictures of. So stay tuned! :)

Now Advertising on Biblicalwomanhood

I purchased an ad on Biblical womanhood.com for three months. I am not sure if it will help spread the word or not, but it does look really cute amongst all the other ads on her side bar. ;-)

Go take a look! And if you didn't know about biblical womanhood, she is a mom around my age expecting her third little one.

She is an expert on bargain shopping and has two other blogs. One is to help people learn how to save money when grocery shopping and other areas in the fi⋅nance department. The other is to help encourage mom's with little ones as these times when they are little can be a bit tough when one is sleep deprived, LOL!

Here are links to her other blogs:

Some Items up on Etsy~

The Culottes "A Peppermint Summer" are up on etsy now. There is also a made to match fabric hair bow that is for sale individually. I have made them "individual" for a couple of reasons.
1. It would drive up the price of the culottes if they were sold together.
2. Some people may not want them for personal taste issues
3. Some people may like just the bow, but would not want the culottes.

So I offered them individually for those reasons.

My little Bean is wearing a green bow that was made to match a pair of culottes that have been sold. They are still available as a bow by itself.

Wall Hangings~

Just listed on Etsy. Unique Memory Wallhanging. I will custom make yours. ♥

Third Item for Sale

This is now Currently Listed on Etsy, it is called Sweet N' Sassy. It is *only* the Culotte to give people the option of just choosing to buy the culotte. This makes the price *alot* cheaper than a set. I am planning on making more sets though. ♥

Second Set I made

This set was named Paisley Carinval. I sold it Three or Four Hours after I had listed it on Etsy

First Set I made

This set was sold on ebay....It was the first set I made and sold. I named it Chocolate Covered Pasiley. ♥
